Biography

Prof. Hamid A. Almegren received his D.Phil. degree in Chemistry from University of Oxford, United Kingdom in 2002. Presently he is Professor and Assistant Director of Materiales Research Institute at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). He is also Guest Professor at China University of Petroleum since 2011, and Beijing University for Chemical Technology since 2013. He is Editor-in-Chief for “Applied Petrochemical Research” Journal since 2012. He has vast experience in field of Heterogeneous Catalysis, and he is Principal Investigator for several joint research projects at KACST in cooperation with various international universities and research centers. He edited book titled “Advances in Natural Gas Technology” in 2012 and recently he editing a book titled "Petrochemical Materials, Processes, and Emerging Technologies" will be release in late 2015. He has published more than fifty research papers in various scientific journals and proceedings of international conferences. He has organized and participated in various national and international scientific conferences and chaired technical sessions and committees.

Research Interest

His research interest in heterogeneous catalysts meanly in hydrotreatment catalysts, mesopause materials, Zeolite, Carbide, Nitride, and Sulfide catalysts.
